Happy Birthday, Honey!!

My hubby had a birthday this week.  His mom planned a surprise party, which was a tremendous success.  Long story short, I had to make him 2 birthday cakes so he wouldn't suspect anything.  This was his first cake for Sunday Lunch.

This was for the surprise party.  It is a Borg ship from the TV show, "Star Trek: The Next Generation".  

I told my hubby that this was for a teacher at my mom's school and we had to drop it off after we dropped off the kiddo at grandma's.  Well, when everyone shouted "Surprise", he said "But we have to drop this cake".  His mom then told him "Honey, that cake is for you."  He had no idea!

Happy Mother's Day

Michael's Tea Party was a success.  We used my grandmother's china tea cups and I made cupcakes.

My Weekend

First off, Happy Mother's Day Weekend to all the wonderful mothers out there!  I wouldn't be the person I am today without my mother.  Thanks, mom.

Second, I had to make a Lego cake for a birthday today (Saturday).  It was HUGE!!!  Check it out...

Finally, my friend had a grand opening for her photography business.  It was AWESOME!!  Her place looked beautiful and her family did a great job with the decor and buffet.  It was great to see my friend all aglow with excitement and pride.  In honor of her big opening day, I donated a cake to her reception buffet.

She doesn't really use a Nikon Coolpix P6000 but it was the easiest camera I could find to replicate.  All the other professional cameras had a huge lens that I would have had to carve and attach.  Too much work.  The lilies and daisies are my first attempt at Gum Paste, which I think went rather well, and I just loved the ribbon!

NOW, I am off to create a Mother's Day Cupcake Bouquet.  Hey, that rhymes!!!!
